Guggul, natural soothing active ingredient

Native to India, Commiphora mukul is also known as Indian myrrh. It is a small shrub that secretes a gum called guggul. This gum contains a steroid called guggulsterone.

The benefits of Guggul

The gum of guggul is part of the natural substances which allow to fight against the accumulation of toxins in the body. It would contribute, among other things, to promote blood purification and to clean the intestines. The Indian myrrh has a rejuvenating effect on all tissues and in particular on the skin, which it allows to cleanse.

Its anti-inflammatory properties make Guggul also very useful for joint problems. This plant promotes the renewal of joint cartilage and helps to consolidate and protect bones and joints. The articular pains are thus relieved and mobility and flexibility found.

Finally, thanks to its significant antioxidant properties, Indian myrrh supports the natural defenses and the nervous function. This plant is therefore beneficial for both body and mind.

A natural substance to maintain healthy cholesterol levels

However, it is especially for its action on the cholesterol, that Guggul is recognized.

Cholesterol is essential to our body, it is distributed in the blood by two types of carrier: high density lipoproteins (HDL) and low density lipoproteins (LDL).

HDL transports cholesterol to the liver where it can be eliminated. This process prevents cholesterol from accumulating in the blood vessels. This is why HDL is called "good cholesterol" and LDL is called "bad cholesterol".

Guggul therefore acts on the ratio between HDL and LDL and helps to maintain a healthy level of cholesterol in the blood. This plant is therefore particularly recommended for people with a high level of "bad cholesterol" and who are thus subject to cardiovascular risks and atherosclerosis (disease affecting the arteries). The Guggul allows, indeed, to control its cholesterol, it supports the cardiovascular system and the cardiac function.

The Indian myrrh is also useful to balance its weight. By promoting the degradation of fats in the body, this plant is an excellent ally for slimming. The action of elimination of the gum is indeed carried out at the level of the fatty cells, while preserving the muscles and the bones.

Guggul, the plant of well-being

In addition to its beneficial action on cholesterol, Guggul would also have an impact on thyroid hormones. There too it would guarantee a good balance acting on many factors of well-being.

The thyroid plays a regulatory role in the body. It can affect sleep, weight gain, mental performance, sweating, body temperature, etc.

The myrrh of India would also act on the female system of reproduction. This plant improved in particular the menstrual comfort.

The Guggul thus carries well its Sanskrit name Guggulu: "the one who protects against the diseases".
