6 tips to relieve heavy legs

If you suffer from heavy legs or circulation problems during or outside of hot weather, there are Ayurvedic tips to help you. Heavy leg problems are due to the Vata dosha, which concerns the movement of blood in the arteries and veins. When this dosha is unbalanced, the veins and valves lose elasticity and the blood has more difficulty to circulate. Find in this article 6 tips to relieve heavy legs.

1. Give massages

Massages help boost blood circulation. Give preference to massages on your feet and legs to reduce the heavy legs effect, using upward movements. Calophylla oil is the oil of blood circulation par excellence! To find light legs, mix 10 drops of calophylla vegetable oil with a hazelnut of Vata ayurvedic oil.

2. Engage in regular physical activity

You can improve your blood circulation through physical activity, especially long-distance sports such as cycling, walking, swimming, gymnastics and water aerobics. Avoid rough sports that involve repeated jumping, jerking and stomping (running, tennis, basketball, etc). Sport is an ally of better circulation because the contraction of the muscles favors venous return.

You can also do leg exercises: on your back with "pedaling" movements, lifting and bending your legs or "scissor" movements. Sport will also have a positive impact on overweight people, asexcess weight is harmful to blood circulation. In addition to regular physical activity, avoid standing or sitting for too long, and do not cross your legs when sitting.

3. Elimination of toxins and digestion

When toxins accumulate in the blood, they prevent it from circulating properly. To eliminate toxins, green tea is a good choice because it tones the blood vessel walls and drains the blood. Remember to stay well hydrated throughout the day. A bad transit, also hinders the blood circulation because it disturbs the return of blood in the veins. If you have problems of constipation, the Triphala is a natural solution that does not cause addiction.

4. Boost blood circulation with spices

Some spices, such as turmeric, ginger and cinnamonhelp boost blood circulation. Do not hesitate to sprinkle your dishes with turmeric and to drink infusions of ginger and cinnamon. At Ayur-vana, ginger is particularly appreciated since it is found in the tulsi ginger infusion and the spice and black tea infusion, as well as in the traditional Tchai blend. The latter two also contain cinnamon.

5. Food, a medicine itself

If it is advisable to have a good diet, it is also advisable in case of heavy legs and bad blood circulation to avoid saturated fatty acids (bad fats) and sugar which dilate the veins and thicken the blood. An excessive consumption of salt is also not recommended since it promotes water retention.
